The global Web3 community gathered for an 11-day event series from September 7th to 17th, 2023 in Switzerland for a multi-day event series organized by Inacta, Crypto Oasis and Internet Computer. It started with the NFT Fest Lugano and continued into the Swiss WEB3FEST 2023 in German-speaking Switzerland. I was able to take part as a panelist on the last day of the Swiss Web3 Fest. Here are my highlights from the Lakeside Unconference.
Lakeside Unconference Highlights
The Lakeside Unconference was a whole Saturday at the FIVE Hotel Zurich, which focuses on innovations, technologies and future trends and makes them tangible. It is part of the WEB3FEST of the 11-day event series from September 7th to 17th, 2023 in Switzerland where the global Web3 community meets. It was a very well organized event with lectures and panels from experts, as well as a presentation of companies, projects and different metaverses.
Brittany Kaiser
A very special speaker was Brittany Kaiser, also known from the Netflix documentary “The great hack” about Cambridge Analytica. It’s fascinating how she conveys her knowledge in a very easy-to-understand way.
Swiss Web 3 Ecosystem Panel
We continued with the Swiss Web3 Ecosystem Panel, in which I was able to take part as a panelist. We discussed the situation and development of Web3 solutions in Switzerland. Benedek Orban from the Crypto Valley Association also sees the bull market positively, I (Georg Lanzinger from NFT Think Tank) got applause for the positive outlook for the bull rally in the next few months. Amin from swissDAO knows the shortage of developers, as does Ben Hoelzl from DAOSuisse. Everyone agrees that Switzerland offers a great advantage for Web3 because of the high standard of living, the good legal framework, existing investors and the high level of education and training.

Content streaming on Web3
After my panel we continued with Umair Masoom Usmani is the founder of Myco, who shared the vision of his company Tyco with us.

Myco is a Web3 video streaming, financing, production and distribution platform where viewers earn by watching content and creators earn from creating content. They see themselves as the web3 version of YouTube, TikTok and Spotify.
Luxury, brands and web 3.0
The Fireside Chat on Luxury Connectivity was with Sarah Schlagenhauf, known for her project “Crypto Vreneli” and Nicole Steel about the future of luxury goods. On stage they showed how NFT and NFC technology can be used to verify the authenticity of e.g. always available in a handbag. With an NFC chip sewn into the handbag, an NFT token is pointed to, where the authenticity of the bag and the origin of the materials used are shown. This is the only right way for labels from the luxury sector to show consumers their authenticity and origin.

Music, Art and Gaming
Soe Haghighi is the organizer of the NFT Fest Lugano, she spoke to Georg Bak, Digital Art Advisor and Sari Seramor from Cosmiq Universe about “Music, Art and Gaming”. Sari had a song specially for this event. Not only in the song but also personally does she advocate for fair rewards for artists. Their core message “we shouldn’t talk about NFTs, it’s just a technology. For mass adoption we have to use consumer language.”
Real World Assets

“Real world assets” was a great panel moderated by Kristina Lucrezia Cornèr from Cointelegraph. The panelists are all doers in this area and see a great future for real world assets with the digital twin. These are Jose Fernandez from Tokengate, Christoph Mussenbrock from Etherise, Carlos Fernandez Mazzi the founder of Finka Token and Stephan Rind the founder of Brickmark.
Metaverse and NFTs

Marcel Fleisch from VP Bank based in Vaduz presented the appearance in Metaverse. This means that VP Bank is one of the few banks that is fit for the future and thus appeals to the younger generations. According to financial research firm Cerulli and Associates, $84 trillion will be inherited over the next two decades.

Mehdi Cherif, founder of Pulse World, a revolutionary metaverse with fantastic graphics. He sees the Metaverse future as moving towards mobile, the currently available glasses are still too big and too heavy and even in the emerging markets everyone has a cell phone and can therefore use the Metaverse. “The world belongs to people who dream a lot!” is his motto and his vision.
Several metaverses were represented and you could test them out. Shiku showed his solution and its easy usability.
NFTs and their applications
There were some good panels and presentations on the topic of NFTs. Jakob Siever’s statement remains in my mind: “Google search is dead. The future is NFT with AI and will make our searches easier.” The topic of NFT is very important for the experts, the user will not notice it in the future, anywhere this technology is used. The legal aspects were also discussed in a panel.
Conclusion
Ralf Glabischnig and Saqr Ereiqat, both founders of Crypto Oasis, completed the event. The two know how to motivate and put people in a good mood and everyone went into the networking part relaxed! The closing words of Saqr “Adoption is crypto is now at the stage where Internet was 1996.” This is motivating and everyone is already looking forward to the crypto spring!
It was a very successful start to WEB3FEST and I’m already looking forward to WEB3FEST 2024!
