Skyweaver, the popular Web3 card game, has just released a balance patch, “Remasked Sentinel,” on Thursday, October 26th at 6:00 PM EST. The Skyweaver development team detailed several exciting updates and adjustments to the game.
Patch Changes
The development team behind Skyweaver has been hard at work, and Patch #126 brings a variety of changes to the game:
- Discovery Odds Removed: One of the noteworthy changes is the removal of Discovery Odds. This feature had remained unchanged for quite some time, and the decision to remove it aims to keep the game fresh and exciting.
- Private Spectate Code Expiry Time Extended: The private spectate code’s expiry time has been extended from 1 day to 2 months. This modification comes as a response to tournament planning challenges and offers greater flexibility for players.
- Conquest Round-Based Matchmaking Restrictions: In an effort to reduce queue times for Conquest players, the round-based matchmaking restrictions will be removed on Monday, October 30th. This change will allow players from different rounds to match against each other, enhancing the overall experience.
The new season also comes with a free reward. Players can go to Skypass to claim the card, Lapin Miner, a Metal Unit from the Strength Prism!
Card Changes
While the development team acknowledges that the game’s meta is fairly stable, they’ve made informed adjustments to underperforming Hero Abilities to improve the viability of certain heroes. Notably, 13 cards have been modified:
- Cthonos, the Sealed: Cthonos no longer grants Guard to the entire board, creating more space for counterplay and emphasizing the value of other Guard Units.
- Head in the Clouds: A significant nerf has been applied to Air-based Iris combo decks to promote a more balanced game environment.
- Speed Boots: This card has been reworked to reduce the potential for one-turn kills, giving all ally units Dash at a lower cost.
- Death’s King: Ritual has been removed to prevent accelerated gamestates, and Death’s King has received a stat boost for greater combat impact.
- Dark Adept: This underperforming card has been updated to have a more reliable effect, with some keywords removed for streamlined gameplay.
- Tooth Hurty: A buff has been applied, adding Stealth to improve its playability.
- Masked Sentinel: This card now has the potential for long-term scaling, triggering on Sunset rather than Play.
- Enlightened: To boost the hero’s ability in the current metagame, the Hero Ability has been returned to giving +3 health per trigger.
- Pack Leader: A buff and rework to Fox’s Hero Ability, making it more reliable and enhancing its synergy with certain cards.
- Mercurial (25004): A rework that aligns with Intellect and Wisdom’s themes and gameplay.
- Mercurial (25021): A different approach to this Hero Ability that transforms it to be more thematic.
