Former Acting Comptroller of the Currency, Brian Brooks, has joined the board of the HBAR Foundation to help drive adoption of the Hedera network. The HBAR Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on promoting the adoption and development of the Hedera network. While at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Brooks was well-known for embracing innovation as long as it adhered to strict compliance demands. He was a strong supporter of blockchain technology and worked to develop a regulatory framework that would encourage innovation and protect consumers. After leaving the OCC, Brooks briefly served as the CEO of Binance.US, and then as Chief Legal Officer at Coinbase, two of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world.
