Fableborne, the innovative fusion of strategic base building and action-packed ARPG raiding, has announced a new playtest open to all Fableborne Primordial NFT holders. The popular Web3 game’s playtest introduces new features, units and a new hero, happening on Oct 25 – Oct 27.
New Defense Units
One of the most significant highlights of this playtest is the introduction of two new defense units: the Healer and the Sniper. The Healer adds a dynamic element to the gameplay by healing nearby creatures, creating a dilemma for attacking players. They must choose whether to prioritize eliminating the Healer or strategize on outdamaging the healing ability. On the other hand, the Sniper, equipped with long-range attacks, becomes available at level nine and provides invaluable support to your defense strategies.
Meet Nix, the New Assault Hero
It’s not all about defense in this playtest. Players now have access to Nix, a formidable melee hero. Nix’s abilities, including a dash for quick engagement and a powerful AoE Tidal Pull, add a new layer of strategy and excitement to the game. These abilities will help players maneuver through challenges and confront their foes head-on.
Playtest Schedule
The playtest is scheduled to run from Wednesday, October 25th, starting at 6:00 AM CST, until Friday, October 27th, 6:00 AM CST. This limited-time event promises two days filled with action, strategy, and surprises.
What Is Fableborne?
Fableborne is a free-to-play, play-to-own game that combines the thrill of action RPGs with base building. Offering an isometric perspective, Fableborne empowers players to engage in multiplayer, asynchronous combat. In the game, players embark on the adventure of scouting new islands, fortifying their bases, and unlocking and upgrading the Echoes of slumbering Heroes for resource-raiding expeditions.
Fableborne is designed for quick play sessions, making it an ideal choice for mobile gamers. Players begin with a basic island and a common Hero, but not all the resources they need can be found there. To overcome this, they must raid other players’ bases and defeat PvE encounters to strengthen their own base.
Echoes, the playable characters, offer a wide range of skills and talents. However, when an Echo is defeated, they begin to fade. Fortunately, players have the option to revive a faded Echo, starting anew with full energy, albeit losing their levels and talents. This revival grants the Echo a significant ability boost, helping them regain their former glory.
While players can purchase NFT heroes, Fableborne aims to establish a ‘fair economy’ that enables every player to unlock and own new heroes, although the specifics of this system have not yet been disclosed. Furthermore, the game will feature leaderboards and regular tournaments, fostering a competitive and engaging gaming community.
Final Thoughts
Fableborne’s blend of strategy, action, and dynamic gameplay elements combines well with its F2P and own-your-progression gameplay. This playtest is a great opportunity for players to play the game and enjoy what the game has to offer.
