- Robinhood just announced the launch of its new crypto wallet app in a recent post on the X platform (formerly Twitter).
- The Robinhood Wallet, a separate app from the Robinhood trading platform, is now available for download.
Crypto Twitter is once again abuzz with excitement as the popular cryptocurrency trading platform, Robinhood, officially acknowledged the launch of its crypto wallet on Google Play for Android devices and App Store for iOS users. Operating separately from its exchange, the Robinhood Wallet provides users a way to enjoy the self-custody of their crypto assets and gain absolute control of their security through their private keys.
The wallet supports crypto assets found on the Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, and Base networks. Just a few hours after its launch, the app has already been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times on both Google Play and App Store across 140 countries.
How to Setup Your Robinhood Wallet Account
Upon download, the process of setting up a Robinhood crypto wallet account is fairly straightforward.
- Launch the app.
- Start by tapping “Create a new wallet.”
- Input your personalized PIN or use Face/Touch ID to secure your account.
- At this point, you will be given a choice whether to back up your wallet data or skip the process. We recommend that you either backup your data via the Cloud or manually as provided by the app to ensure that you will have a way of recovering your wallet if the situation arises.
- Determine whether you want to turn on the notifications of your wallet or not. We suggest doing the former so you will be alerted of any important activities affecting your digital assets.
- Wrap it up by selecting “Let’s go.”
Importing your existing crypto wallet to Robinhood Wallet is also simple.
- Upon launch of the app, tap “Import your existing wallet.”
- Provide the recovery phrase of the crypto wallet that you wish to import.
- Proceed by selecting “Import” followed by “Continue.”
- Repeat the rest of the steps to secure your account with Face/Touch access or custom PIN all the way to “Let’s go.”
At this point, you’re ready to fund your wallet.
- After the completion of the steps needed to set up your Robinhood Wallet, hit “Home.”
- Under “Menu,” select “Transfer from Robinhood” if you are using the brand’s native exchange or select from the exchanges it supports.
- Determine the crypto that you want to transfer and its network.
- Input the amount that you wish to move and tap “Review.”
- If you’re sure that you have entered all the details correctly, choose “Submit.”
- Enter the one-time passcode sent to your device for authentication.
