- IOTA expands its Trade Logistics Information Pipeline (TLIP) project with new partners.
- TLIP is specially designed to streamline, secure, and enhance the efficiency of the processing and exchange of international trade documents.
- The World Economic Forum (WEF), Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, and others just forged an alliance with IOTA for the realization of their shared vision.
The TLIP System of IOTA
Unlike many other cryptocurrencies or blockchain projects, IOTA does not rely too much on hype or speculations. That’s because its underlying technology is grounded on real-world adoption, especially in places where it truly matters like uplifting societies and elevating various industries.
Recently, the IOTA Foundation and its partners unveiled the Trade Logistics Information Pipeline (TLIP). The platform aims to offer secure storage, administration, and real-time exchange of trade-related information through the signature direct acrylic graph (DAG) protocol of the tech firm.
The TLIP was conceptualized via a series of workshops. One of them was held in Rwanda, which was participated by key players in the Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) sector and Trademark Africa.
Based on the roadmap the IOTA Foundation and its collaborators agreed upon previously, TLIP will be initially used to advance the cross-border exchange of SPS trade documents within the East African Community (EAC) region. The system is also tailored to enhance the monitoring and validation of regulatory, health security, and quality compliance of agricultural products.
This will be augmented by the integration of IOTA’s digital identifier (DID) mechanism to reinforce the protection, efficiency, and integrity of its governance chain. Its features will likewise do away with the traditional usage of physical stamps for trade certificates, and it guarantees the immutability of processes and transactions for the accountability and transparency of all parties involved.
More Prestigious Organizations Join the Fold
Recognizing the importance of IOTA’s technology and the novel framework of the TLIP project, more global entities inked a new strategic partnership with the foundation at the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Abu Dhabi. In addition to Trademark Africa, the alliance now includes the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
The new milestone positions the wider adoption of IOTA’s technology beyond its utilization in SPS trade document exchange. The WEF and its cohorts consider the platform as a venue where stakeholders can gain access to fair play and impartial governance regardless of their size or industry.
With it, everyone can partake in the non-profit, decentralized, and interoperable system of IOTA where companies can potentially develop their commercial models and grow their value along the way.
