The Decentraland Community Summit 2024 will convene in Argentina, the birthplace of Decentraland, from May 22 to May 24, 2024. This is a full-circle occasion for the community to come together and deliberate on the platform’s prospective path.
Exclusive Invitation Participation in the Summit will be strictly by invitation. While open applications are welcome, the selection process will be carried out by a committee comprising Foundation leadership and community members Gino Cingolani & Pablo Lewin. Priority will be given to community members actively contributing to the Decentraland ecosystem and those keen on shaping its future.
The Summit pledges to provide a distinctive space for community members to forge personal connections. Meeting in person fosters more profound bonds, improved communication, and a deeper understanding of the individuals beyond the avatars. This, in turn, paves the way for more robust collaborations and bridges any gaps that online exchanges might overlook.
Costs and Scholarships
For those unable to attend in person, efforts will be made to record and share event presentations online, in addition to a recap during the subsequent Community All Hands meeting following the Summit.
While expenses such as transportation, accommodation, meals, and planned activities will be covered for selected attendees, they are responsible for their travel costs to Argentina and any extra expenditures. For those facing financial constraints, there’s a glimmer of hope. A DAO proposal is presently under consideration, aiming to partially offset Summit expenses, including a limited number of travel scholarships for community members. The decision on the proposal will be disclosed by November 20.
