- ‘Cardano Girls’ happens to be trending on X (formerly Twitter) this week, and a lot of women are now hopping onto the bandwagon with their twist on it.
- This went viral after a post made by Cardano (ADA) user and content creator Lily Brodi.
- The crypto community had mixed reactions to the craze for its range of cool to cringe content.
The ‘Cardano Girls’ Trend
The ‘Cardano Girls’ viral video apparently started when Lily Brodi, content creator on X, created her own spin on the social media trend showing people jestfully riding on stereotypically conceived notions about certain groups in the community.
The original one starts with “We are…” where the speakers state the class they identify with. Then, it’s followed by “Of course we…” where they say the usual stereotype attached to such a group.
The original version of the trend went over due to the participation of celebrity influencers like Kim Kardashian. Now, the Cardano Girls version is going viral for the same mix of funny, cute, witty, and sometimes cringy takes attached to them.
Brodi’s version initially went, “We’re Cardano girls. Of course, we are real.”
Brodi’s post was immediately caught on by the crypto community and other users on X. Among the standouts were Cardano Girls proudly telling the world how they treat themselves with money saved on gas fees, how they fangirl over Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinkon, and how they “buy $ADA while the men create all the drama.”
The Crypto Community’s Reaction
The Cardano Girls videos going around on social media circles are definitely a breath of fresh air not only in the ADA space but in the wider crypto community. They also provide a renewed exposure for Cardano, which has been eclipsed by other crypto projects over the years.
Likewise, the trend highlights the fact that investing in digital assets like ADA is an inclusive venture, which is not confined within a certain class. Furthermore, the lighthearted nature of some of the content mirrors the same charm possessed by meme coins, which is easier to grasp and with focus on culture.
As with any other trend going around these days, the Cardano Girls had its own share of critics. Among the criticisms stemmed from some of the obvious thirst trap videos centering on Hoskinson, the subtle digs at other tokens like Hosky and Snek, references to OnlyFans, and those mentioning mental health issues.
Nevertheless, Brodi explained that the video was made with a group of friends in response to the Crypto Girls trend, but making it relevant to Cardano. According to her, it fills the void made by the lack of “lighthearted and fun content” within its space.
In the past week, the strategy somehow worked in promoting Cardano since she now claims to have people communicating with her for a potential collaboration and others asking how to download a ‘Cardano wallet.’
In light of this trend, Cardano continues to swing on the upside as of this writing at 6:00 AM UTC on Saturday. ADA displays nearly a 2% gain in the past 24 hours to its present value at $0.65 and around 6% recovery in the last seven days from a $0.62 low.
