“Axie Classic is Back. — Jihoz” Axie Classic recently announced updates on its once massively popular game mode Axie Classic. The new update includes Gold Chests, Grand Tournament Phase 2, and Increased AXP Caps.
New Resource Gold
Players can earn gold from Arena match wins. It functions as a new off-chain resource. Players must win Arena matches to obtain one of the four kinds of Gold Chests.
Gold will soon be required to purchase Cursed Coliseum tickets. You will continue to receive your free daily ticket for now, but this will change in the upcoming weeks.
If you play Classic, it would be wise to start stacking Gold. The devs have mentioned that they will add more utilities for it soon.
Gold Chests
Gold Chests come in four varieties: common, rare, epic, and mystic. Every single one has an own cooldown period, gold factor, drop rate, and gain in gold. A maximum of four Gold Chests may be owned by players at any one time. The cooldown period on your Gold Chests must pass before you can get more.
Let’s take an example where you receive four common Gold Chests and win four straight matches. That would mean that you had reached your four-chest limit and that you would have to wait until the cooldown period was over after unlocking at least one Gold Chest before you could earn any more. The same rules apply for rare, epic, and mystic Gold Chests; the cooldown times will just be longer.
Grand Tournament Phase 2
A tournament for the 70,632 Lunacians who entered and will determine who will advance towards Phase 3, the Final Round, with loads of prizes waiting for the winners.
Phase 2 of the Grand Tournament will happen across five rounds. Players will be segregated into groups with escalating stakes and rewards at each stage.
Higher Limit on Daily AXP:
The AXP cap for Axie Classic was also raised in the update, going from 2,400 to 4,500 per day! Each axie will now receive 75 AXP for a victory in the Arena and Tournament modes, and 150 AXP for a victory in the Cursed Coliseum.
Axie Infinity is slowly returning to its former glory. Thousands of players returned to Axie thanks to Axie Classic. The communities of Pixels and Axie have merged perfectly. We’re still now sure if Axie truly will be as popular as it once has been at its peak but it’s clear that Axie is slowly moving there. The latest Axie Classic update has rekindled the competitive spirit among players. As mentioned by Jihoz. “We are back”.
