Solana-based blockchain NFT game, EV.IO makes their FPS game available to be played on mobile.
One of the top Web3 FPS games, EV.IO, widens its reach by announcing that its action-packed deathmatch FPS game can be played on mobile devices. The announcement just came recently on Twitter, possibly hinting at a fully optimized mobile gaming version of the beloved Solana game.
As of now, the game can only be played when EV.IO is accessed through its browser application on mobile. The device can be tilted to the side to enable landscape mode, making the game playable on both android and iOS.
The team has stated that is merely a “1.0” beta test. It is likely the developers are still looking at the reception a mobile version of EV.IO is going to receive once it officially makes it available in mobile.
Based on the replies on Twitter, the mobile version kick-off looks to be a positive venture. Users cite that this makes the game much more accessible, with one user highlighting that you can now play the game while you’re outside doing errands. Considering the huge reach mobile gaming has on gamers, it will potentially reach a much wider audience once it fully optimizes the project.
What is EV.IO?
If Quake or Halo is your cup of tea in web2, then EV.IO is the combined web3 brainchild of the deathmatch fast-paced shooter. Users will be placed in an area with weapons and abilities scattered throughout the map. The goal of the game is to simply be the best shooter. Defeat your opponents, or die trying.
EV.IO shines because of its fun gameplay coupled with earning mechanics. The more you play the game, the more $SOL you accumulate by winning and killing opponents in a free-for-all death match. The game also has a team-based mode where players add a layer of teamwork in an already fast-paced shooter.
Final Thoughts
Mobile gaming might not be able to have a beautifully cinematic scene like in PS5’s God of War or the modding capabilities of a PC CS: GO game. But mobile gaming truly shines when the conversation is on accessibility and reach.
Right now, the primary struggle of web3 gaming is trying to onboard the entire gaming population to try out the capabilities blockchain technology can do to enhance the gaming experience.
EV.IO’s direction toward a mobile release potentially reaches many traditional gamers who are looking for a simple yet enjoyable shooter within the web3 space.
