Twelve Fold, the Bitcoin-based NFT collection of Yuga Labs, is coming into the markets very soon. Learn more about what makes this collection valuable.
Yuga Labs, the iconic crypto company behind high profile NFT collection Bored Ape Yacht Club, announces a highly-anticipated NFT collection – but this time it’s based on Bitcoin.
The Bitcoin-based NFT collection will be called TwelveFold and will be composed of 300 exclusive art pieces via Ordinals. These are basically Bitcoin NFTs since they are inscribed to the original Satoshi. This is possible because its inscription process puts the data stored into the witness of the Bitcoin transaction.
So far, it has proved to be a high-profile NFT collection with numerous crypto netizens waiting for the auction details. A deeper look into the collection would reveal that each artwork comprises a combination of 3D graphics and hand-drawn features designed by Yuga Lab’s art team. They were generated using 3D modeling, algorithmic construction, and high-end rendering tools.
Each piece will be a 12-by-12 grid that references how the original Bitcoin is stored on the blockchain. The piece will be an entirely art-based project meaning that it will not hold other utility or be related to all its Ethereum-based projects.
According to the Yuga Labs blog, the collection is inspired by how Bitcoin technology stores its data. Furthermore, Greg Solano, Co-founder of Yuga Labs, went on to say that this is a “departure from what’s expected from Yuga.” He said, “But you know, Fuck doing expected things.”
Yuga Labs has multiple projects in development at its helm. On top of its popular NFT collections such as BAYC, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, and CryptoPunks, the company has also dove into the metaverse with its The Otherside NFT project. Moreover, the recent Dookey Dash skill-based mint has also earned millions since it went live.
Auction details have yet to be revealed. But developers have notified users that it will be announced this week. Yuga Labs said that it will announce the auction within 24 hours of the event so make sure you stay tuned.
To participate, you will need a self-custodial wallet that contains Bitcoin and an empty Bitcoin address to freely receive your piece once your bid is successful.
Final Thoughts
Yuga Labs has so far been successful in both its gamefi and NFT ventures. Investors are likely looking to collect a few of these Bitcoin-inspired pieces since they are likely to to increase in value due to Yuga Lab’s positive reputation.
However, Yuga Labs themselves have said that this is unlike what it has ever produced so perhaps we might see a different outcome. Nevertheless, it’s exciting to see what else crypto companies may come up with in the future. Make sure to stay tuned this week for any sudden announcement for the Yuga Labs team.
