The NFT space has evolved since the hype of 2021 and Switzerland, one of the leading countries in the blockchain space, has launched several initiatives to enhance innovation in the NFTs space. Organizations such as NFT Think Tank and the Swiss Metaverse association made it their primary focus to push forward on NFT and Metaverse innovation and create the environment necessary for Swiss companies to be at the forefront of this new technology.
In this article we will take a closer look at some of the top NFT projects in Switzerland.
The Swiss NFT Market
Switzerland has managed to be at the forefront of blockchain technology and this is no different in the NFT space.
Despite the drop in NFT prices, there are several Swiss startups, corporation, universities and non-profit organizations adapting and experimenting with NFT technology.
Swiss companies are interested in finding a way to use Web3 to their advantage and with GenZ being more technologically savvy the question arrises for many traditional Swiss corporations how to attract this new generation as a customer. Is Web3 with the Metaverse and NFTs the answer? Perhaps.
It is nice to see that several Swiss companies have embraced the challenge of finding use cases for NFTs. It is a new sphere they are entering into and the possibilities of NFTs are yet to be seen.
Can they bring value to Swiss companies, and if yes, how?
Let us take a closer look.
What can NFTs be used for?
The world of NFTs is still very new, which is why we still do not know the extent of the potential of NFTs. It is up to our creativity and eagerness to experiment to see the true potential of Non Fungible Tokens.
Together with NFT Think Tank, the biggest NFT community in Switzerland, we took a look at the different possible use cases for NFTs.
Possible use cases for NFTs:
- Proof of visit/Proof of attendance: Memories, Travel and Adventure based NFTs
- Loyalty programs: Rewarding loyal customers with or through NFT programs
- Proof of ownership/Tracking: NFC chips
- Collectibles: Art and Memorabilia
- Fundraising: Non profit and for profit
- Gaming: In game items
- Community Building: NFTs help build strong communities
Are NFTs more than just art?
Yes. The NFT space is a broad field that goes far beyond art. Although we are still at the beginning of what NFTs can be used for, there are various fields that can and will profit from NFTs. Here are some areas where we can see Non Fungible Tokens playing an important role:
- Gaming
- Marketing
- Community Building
What are Physical NFTs?
Physical NFTs act as a cryptographic token of ownership over a physical item for the buyer. This happens when the buyer wants a physical version of the NFT. A physical NFT is a non-fungible token connected to a physical asset.
Some examples of physical NFTs are: NFT Cards and NFC Chips.
