James Seyffart, Senior Research Analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, has recently revealed the top institutional holders of spot Hyperliquid (HYPE) Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). Private asset management firms from Brazil and Hong Kong topped the list with combined exposure of more than $34.44 million.
Top Institutional Hyperliquid ETF Holders
Seyffart based the tally on the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) 13F data. The list, consisting of 30 companies, placed Wealth High Governance (WHG) Asset Management on top, with its 368,224 HYPE exposure through ETFs. The private enterprise’s exposure is equivalent to roughly $23.95 million.
WHG is an independent wealth and asset management company headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil. It manages money and investments for high-net-worth families and institutions. The firm was founded in 2020 by former executives of Credit Suisse, a Swiss multinational investment bank and financial services provider.
Next on the list is OLP Capital Management, also known as OceanLink Management. The privately owned entity is based in Hong Kong. Its filing shows it possesses 161,379 HYPE exposure equivalent to nearly $10.5 million.
Moreover, the two companies have surpassed the HYPE ETF holdings of Swiss multinational bank UBS AG, Canadian multinational financial services provider Bank of Montreal (BMO), and global quantitative trading firm Jane Street.
The HYPE ETF Market
To date, three issuers offer spot Hyperliquid ETFs regulated in the US. It includes 21shares Hyperliquid Staking ETF (THYP), Bitwise Hyperliquid ETF (BHYP), and Grayscale Hyperliquid ETF (HYPG).
BHYP dominates the market segment by far with around $54.6 million in total net inflows as of Friday’s market close. Meanwhile, HYPG and THYP account for only $11.6 million and $6.7 million in net inflows, respectively.
Demand for Hyperliquid ETFs is backed by the solid performance of their underlying tokens since mid-August, as Bitcoin (BTC) recovered above $80,000 heading into September amid a strong institutional buying spree. Optimism over incoming regulatory developments in the US also helped reinforce HYPE’s momentum, as none other than President Donald Trump has instructed Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chair Mike Selig to bring Hyperliquid’s perpetual futures platform into the USA’s regulated ecosystem.
Fresh from an all-time high of $87.99 per token on Friday, HYPE continues to navigate the $84.66 and $87.88 range in the last 24 hours as of writing. Furthermore, these put Hyperliquid’s 251.52 million circulating supply at a market cap between $21.29 billion and $22.1 billion over the same timeframe.
